About Obrava Collective
OBRAVA COLLECTIVE
Obrava is built on controlled disruption.
We make kanji-coded streetwear — heavyweight fabric, worn textures, script that means something to the people who take the time to read it. Clean enough for daily wear. Marked enough to leave a trace.
Who's behind it
Obrava Collective is an independent label, founded in 2025 by Tommy Waters and operated as Obrava Collective LLC out of Cerritos, California (US Western Region). It started as a short run of kanji graphics on heavyweight blanks and grew into three lines. Every character that goes on a garment is chosen and checked first — the full index lives in The Kanji Library.

Why kanji
Kanji is a coded language. Most people see a shape; some people read a signal. That gap is the whole point. Every graphic we put on fabric carries a word we chose deliberately — longevity, harmony, void, evolution. If you know, you know. If you don't, you'll ask.
Why heavyweight
Because construction is the difference between merch and clothing. We build on 250–420GSM fabric — the kind that holds its shape, drapes with weight, and survives the wash. Restraint in design only works when the garment itself has substance.
The lines
Kanji Dragon — script-driven graphics carrying dragon energy. Sunfade, vintage wash, heavyweight builds.
Shinsei — philosophy in fabric. Void washes, embroidered kanji, restraint as confidence.
Core — the foundation. Clean essentials built to layer, built to last.
How we make it
Much of our range is produced on demand — your piece is made when you order it. No warehouse of dead stock, no landfill runs at season's end. It takes a few extra days. We think that's a fair trade.
Stay close. Read the signal. Wear the mark.
